The Problem

I have a 2002 pace arrow 35g with a Norcold side by side Refrigerator model 1200LRIM and the ice maker was overflowing water allowing ice to build up in the ice bin and the compartment on that side of the freezer. The Teflon coating on th old ice maker was real bad and this was causing the water to overflow out of the bin, I looked at several videos on line and one video used an im1600 replacement ice maker. They had to splice the wires and trace the color codes for the wires. The Norcold refrigerator uses black, white, brown and green, but the im 1600 uses black blue green and yellow. I found out that the 1600 is used for Frigidaire and other manufactures.

One Solution

Thru research I found that the replacement ice maker should be a whirlpool model. The model I used is model # ECKMF95 IM 00064452. I purchased mine from Lowe’s. The Lowe’s part number is 654060. The cost at the time of this post was $99.00 plus tax. I installed it yesterday 7/3/2018 and it started making ice in about 12 hours. The wiring on this model is an exact match. All you have to do is remove the extension cord that comes with the new ice maker and attach the he existing plug and re hang the ice maker. You will also have to make a cutout for the water tube and close off the existing hole if it has one.

It will then take about 12 to 24 hrs to make ice.

Note

There are other ice makers out there for around $30 to $50 online but I needed one now so I opted for the additional expense. I am on the road now and didn’t want to buy ice trays adding to the cost.
